Honolulu Airport Parking: HNL Car Options

At the Honolulu airport or HNL airport, nothing is more upsetting than trying to find the airport parking lot, or looking for an available spot when you are running late or having to pay a lot of money for parking when you return. You can avoid this situation if you learn how to be prepared a head of time.

At the Honolulu Airport, located on the island of Oahu, the main parking lot and parking lot A are directly across from the main terminal near baggage claims D, E, and F. Parking B is across from the commuter terminal baggage claims A, and B. Parking lot F can be found across from the main terminal close to baggage claims H, and G. If you need to go from terminal to terminal you can take a wikibus.

The price rates for these parking lot start at $1 an hour with maximum of $10 daily. The first 30 minutes are free. If you need to leave your car longer, they have a monthly rate of $100. Convenient valet parking is available as well. During peak travel seasons, it is smart to check on the availability of  hourly and long-term parking before leaving to go to the airport, this gives you time to make other arrangements if parking is full.

The Honolulu airport have parking shuttles services to the terminal. The service gets you from your car to your terminal to check your baggage. There isn’t a fee for the shuttle, it is a courtesy to airport guests and their luggage. There are so many cars that need to park at the airport that it is common to have a space far from the terminal, so it is nice to have this service.

If you are interested in off-site parking lots near the Honolulu Airport, be aware that they are farther away from the airport. The trade-off for this inconvenience is lowered price rates. These commercial parking lots also let you reserve parking spaces in advance. If you are staying at a hotel many use the Waikiki Express service. The Best Western and Pacific Marina Inn provide shuttle services. Park Air Express is an independent lot off-site where one can leave their car. It is on Paiea St. Getting a ride from a friend or loved one to Honolulu airport is the cheapest way to go but sometimes parking works best for convenience.

I’m flying into Honolulu airport for thanksgiving so it’s interesting to learn more about the airport parking in case I move there (which I hope I can). I can’t wait to take Waikiki Express too!
