Whenever you take an airplane and park, there is often a nagging thought about what will happen to your car when you’re gone. If you’re in San Jose, what are some of the parking options? First of all, don’t rule out public transportation because you can leave your car for a week at certain Light Rail Stops.
If you are thinking of driving to a lot, here are some ideas:
Park N Travel is one facility close to the airport. Quick Park Express is another option and is on Gateway Avenue. The Marriot is a third idea as is Comfort Inn and you can leave your car and get the shuttle.
If you don’t have much luggage, you can use public transportation. You can get to Mineta San Jose International Airport daily from 5:00 am till midnight every fifteen minutes by taking the Airport Flyer at VTA’s Metro/Airport Light Rail stops and at the Santa Clara Caltrain station. Obviously this works better for shorter flights then situations where you need to bring a lot of luggage. Also some of the park and ride lots allow for free parking for up to seven days but be sure you use a designated spot for this as they are
The San Jose International Airport site is at http://www.sjc.org/ Airports almost always will help in case of the best way you should handle leaving your vehicle. Again, they’ll be all to pleased to answer any question you might have.
You can ask them questions when you want to compare their different lots such as:
1. What do they recommend if you’re staying longer than X amount of time.
2. If it was their car, what would THEY do in the same situation.
3. Is it a safe area, or have there been a lot of break-ins lately.
